Oh, that river in Egypt

Ahhhhh, denial.

If only my resolve were as firm as my conviction that this much yarn was absolutely, definitely going to be enough to finish 15 more rows of scarf:

Twisted Vine Neckwarmer

It wasn't:

Oh well.

The folks over at humor-blogs are wondering just why I'm talking about knitting so much. Weren't my New Year's resolutions supposed to be in today?

Oh that's such a shame. It's a beautiful scarf!

Can't you make your own yarn out of dog hair? I thought I saw Martha Stewart do that once. Just a thought.

Yeah--that dog definitely has the feed me look on its face! That's so frustrating about the scarf--i'm always miscalculating yarn amounts.

Well craps, Mad Mad. Beautiful scarf, though! Maybe give it to a very (very) short person?

Cherry Airheads=knitting fuel!

Where are the deep thoughts already? I feel so ... so... cheated. :-)

Yeah right.

Lovely scarf...adorable dog. Want an annoying one? No...a really annoying one. You can have him and then I can sleep...he will curl up at your feet like a good little mutt, never getting up and down off the bed to readjust, lick himself, or chew on noise-causing toys.

Who cares about the scarf, the most important thing is geography lessons using wool.

I always start knitting more slowly, as if that will make the yarn go further. Doesn't work...

Oh don't you HATE that!! I do. I guess you'll have to rip back one repeat?

That's funny, I always thought knitting faster made the yarn last longer. Though that's never worked for me, either.

Is the scarf salvageable without those last 15 rows?

amy said...

Yup, I knit faster too, the theory being that I will race the yarn to the finish. Doesn't always work. It's the same theory, though, as driving faster to get to the gas station when the low gas light is on. Not that, er, I ever let it get that low, especially with children in the car.

Can you get more or is it time for the complementary color to be introduced?

Yeah, I'm right there with you on that river.

oh poop. guess you'll have to make it into a cowl? And geez, feed Dog already, those eyes are killing me!

suburban correspondent - I knit faster, thinking the yarn will last longer then. Almost the same as speeding up when I'm running out of gas.
Anyway, I don't know exactly how I found your blog, but I'm loving it!

That scarf is gorgeous. Seriously, gorgeous. (and yea, the dog is cute, too.) So, what's the backup plan?

Can you please give dog a little treat for me? That chin resting on the leg trick always works for me. Sorry about the yarn. I hate that more than anything.

Oh, that's even sadder than you described because, dude? That's GORGEOUS! Can you get more?

That face is adorable!

Knittings funny. Well at least when I attempt it.

Love the scarf. I am new to knitting , been crocheting forever. I too have run out of yarn and then when you go back to the store they never have the same dye lot. Murphy's Law is always in my back pocket! I would love to snaggle that pattern for the scarf. Was it on internet?
