Deep, deep thoughts on the New Year

There I was, the laundry all done, all set to have some deep thoughts about my future and 2009, when I realized...

We have no food.

(Or laundry detergent.)

So... yeah.

The deep thoughts will happen tomorrow.

For sure.

Almost certainly.

******************************************************

The folks over at humor-blogs will notice that, yes, we DO have four different types of peanut butter in the fridge. You got a problem with that?

That looks a lot like my refrigerator - except mine has lots of spoiled left-overs that would kill us if we ate them.

Beer, peanut butter & wheat germ. What else do you need?

I could trade some salsa for some peanut butter...

Hey, at least you've got peanut butter. And beer. And many many condiments, by the looks of it. What more do they need??

As long as you've got PB you are still in business.

Only one jar of mayonnaise. What do they do, eat it? All of it, before they open a new jar?

There's a website somewhere that tells how to make your own laundry detergent that works as well as BigNameBrand and costs less than a tenth as much. You just have to have a place to store a big bucket full of liquid laundry detergent. I'm still pondering it while I use up the powdered.

Are you sure you didn't put the PB in there to make it look like you had more food? PB is a pantry food!

Oh Hellman's mayonnaise. Nice. And peanut butter. I'd be quite satisfied with those in my fridge. Give me some bread, I'd be fine. I wouldn't starve!

You do have a lot of peanut butter though.

Wow. That IS an abnormally large amount of peanut butter. Looking at the pic I see what could possibly be two more jars on the top shelf (far left and far right), and another jar on the bottom shelf. That makes 5 jars of peanut butter in one fridge? C'mon, you can admit it to us...you're doing something with it other than eat it, aren't ya? ;-)

The lack of food is not so bad (as everyone noted there is peanut butter, a food group all on its own) but no laundry detergent? Clean underwear is non-negotiable!

i see peanut butter, jelly and a corona....i'd wait until tomorrow to go shopping...(ok, i see a lot of other posters have noticed that too...see a pattern? it's not wrong then to just have that today!)

Peanut butter(protein)and jelly (fruit)covers the basic food groups, so you don't need to shop today.

I think at any one time, I may have three open jars of peanut butter (in the pantry though), three different loaves of bread being used, and at least 4 half-full jars of spaghetti sauce in my fridge. And 12 open boxes of cereal. My mother would always freak if we opened something new before the old one was gone. And by "gone", I mean the jar of pb scraped clean with a spatula. How have I not passed along this trait?

PB and J for dinner, washed down with a Corona! You got it all covered...

I think if you have a corona in the house, you're good.

Peanut butter encompasses the 4 food groups, doesn't it?? You guys have a LOT of peanut butter, lol.

But you have A LOT of peanut butter...

EGGS, people! Eggs and milk and sausage and some green stuff. And cream cheese. I call that an omelet.

You know you don't really have to keep peanut butter in the refrigerator, right?

I'll tell you that I (well, Mr. Hot anyway) threw away 10 bottles of expired salad dressing from our refrigerator.

Which, seriously? god should knock me down dead for that.

Um, do you really keep peanut butter in the refridgerator? How do you spread it?

Two questions: Why do you keep three jars of peanut butter in the fridge (they get all hard and unspready)

Two: Why do you have three jars of peanut butter?

I've just come across your blog and was shocked to see that you keep possibly FIVE and at least THREE jars of peanut butter in the fridge! lol How do you spread it? Put it in the microwave?

Looks like as long as you've got bread, you don't need anything else. I learned to eat condiment sandwiches many years ago. :-)
